This book chronicles some of the most memorable events of my life within the past 80 years. It also traces the success story of Pharmanews in its 40 years of uninterrupted publication (from 1979 to 2019). Prior to the beginning of the writing, I asked myself why I should invest my time and resources into it. Then, some answers came to my mind. First, I am in the best position to tell the story of my life. Second, I am also in the best position to tell the story of Pharmanews. Third, I believe I owe the world a duty to tell these stories while alive.
There are thousands of stories of people and businesses, but what is in this book is original and unique. What you will find here is an accurate account of the successes and setbacks, achievements and challenges, as well as the frustrations and joys that I have experienced in my personal life and in managing the business of Pharmanews. All these are peculiar experiences that God allowed me to go through to become the person I am today and to be occupied with the assignments He has given me.
I can say, like Paul the apostle, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learnt the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:12–13).
I feel obliged to share these experiences because I consider it my responsibility to the world and posterity. The benefit of reading the stories of the lives of people or businesses is that if you learn from their experiences, you will avoid repeating the mistakes they might have made. And where they have succeeded, you will know how to apply some of their principles and strategies for your own success
